What is the difference between hemp and marijuana?

The official conclusion states that “both hemp varieties and marijuana varieties are of the same genus, Cannabis, and the same species, Cannabis Sativa. Further, there are countless varieties that fall into further classifications within the species cannabis Sativa.” Still, the end result will depend on the way the plant is grown and used. For example, the most used term is cannabis (marijuana) which describes a Cannabis Sativa plant that is specifically grown for its potent trichomes. Trichomes are very rich in the THC compound (tetrahydrocannabinol), which has strong psychoactive properties and is the one responsible for the feeling of “high”. On the other hand, hemp is the term used to describe Cannabis Sativa plant which only contains small traces of THC, and is generally grown for industrial purposes such as oil supplements, topical ointments, fiber, construction, etc. Products made from industrial hemp that contain less than 0.3% of THC are legal for distribution and consumption. The mentioned 0.3% is the main factor that makes the difference between hemp and marijuana classification.

Is a standard hemp seed oil the same as a high hemp content hemp oil?

Definitely not. Standard hemp oil can be easily found and bought at regular grocery stores and is therefore very different from Natural Essentials for Pets hemp oil. Standard hemp oil is obtained through the process of cold pressing the seeds while our hemp extract is an olive oil extraction of the hemp plant itself. Even standard hemp oil has its nutritive benefits and may be helpful for some ailments but it has a very low amount of hemp in it. After all, it is the hemp compound and its concentration that’s been studied and researched extensively for its far-reaching beneficial effects. Thanks to our extraction method, our hemp seed oil doesn’t need emulsifiers, thus making the hemp concentration high for the top product quality.

What is cannabidiol (hemp)? What is hemp oil?

Cannabinoids are compounds found in hemp and cannabis plant (flower, leaf, and stem) and they provide plenty of health benefits. When consumed, cannabinoids trigger certain receptors in the body (CB1 and CB2). Essentially, hemp is the most abundant cannabinoid found in cannabis that has absolutely no psychoactive effects, which is precisely why it’s extensively studied and researched for various uses. Hemp is a derivative of hemp-A (cannabidiolic acid), produced when hemp-A comes into contact with heat. The decarboxylation temperature (the point at which the acid chain falls off the hemp-A) for hemp is around 240F-290F.

Hemp oil is cannabis oil (it can be derived from both marijuana and industrial hemp) and it has higher concentrations of cannabidiol (hemp) in it. Natural Essentials for Pets sells oil that’s derived from industrial hemp, which is why our oil is hemp-rich hemp oil. It’s important to note that cannabis doesn’t mean marijuana. This is a genus term which all forms of hemp and marijuana belong to. Natural Essentials for Pets uses industrial hemp for our hemp oil; we don’t sell marijuana.

Why is finding the right hemp oil dosage so complicated?

It’s only logical for people looking to buy hemp to be interested in the right dosage before the actual purchase. And, it’s true that dosing can be a bit challenging, especially since different brands have different standards and ways of measuring. Also, doctors don’t like prescribing hemp precisely because they too are unsure of the right dosage for different conditions. However, we at Natural Essentials for Pets hope that our guide will provide you with the easier answer as to what the right dosage for you is. With the following info, you’ll be able to understand the effects and factors of your health condition in order to determine the right dosage better.

It’s important to recognize the two factors that go into the hemp dosage that someone will need:

1) The quality of the hemp taken

The amount of hemp you need to take will greatly depend on the quality of that hemp product. After all, purity and the concentration of hemp is different for every brand and manufacturer. Luckily, we at Natural Essentials for Pets can guarantee the purest hemp of top-notch quality. Don’t hesitate to read up more on our offers.

2) The way it affects each individual

Every individual can react differently to hemp products. Hemp adjustments will have to be accordingly made depending on your weight, tolerance as well as the severity of condition you want to treat. However, it’s important to mention that trying out different amounts of hemp is nothing to be scared of, and is actually a recommended thing to do. What’s more, there are plenty of our satisfied customers who readily offer their personal advice on different ways this natural alternative can help with different ailments.

The funny and frustrating truth:

It’s impossible for us or any other brand to tell you the exact dosage you individually will need even with your weight and needs well-known. In the end, it all comes down to you, your symptoms and biological makeup. But, you can always make the first step and visit your doctor or a vet if you want to buy hemp for your pet. In the end, factors and differences make for too many variables. For example, someone who suffers from chronic insomnia and wants to take a more holistic approach to their issue should definitely look into the longer-acting method such as hemp capsules. And the easiest way to start off your dosage is to take your weight into consideration. But, in the end, that weight doesn’t have to prove to be accurate for your own dosage needs as it will all boil down to your endogenous cannabinoid levels, which are not commonly measured.

Like with any other dietary, all-natural supplement, your best bet is to start slow and low. Everyone’s endocannabinoid system is different, which is precisely why what works for some people may not necessarily work for you, as well. As you’re probably aware, more doesn’t always have to be better – but, with hemp, this is not a matter of overdosing or danger. If your condition is more serious, it’s only logical that you may find relief in larger hemp doses, which is fine because hemp has no toxicity whatsoever.

Three tips for taking the correct hemp oil dosage:

Start small and increase gradually

In general, the best way to approach hemp dosage is to start with a smaller amount and then gradually increase your dosage if necessary. As mentioned, different people, with different endocannabinoid systems, different weights, different ailments and different symptoms will all react differently and need their hemp dosage adjusted accordingly. Just like in case of many other supplements, it’s recommended that you start with the minimum recommended daily amount and then see for yourself how to adjust it in order to get your desired effect.

Pick the right bottle size for you

Another simple way that can help you with finding the right hemp dosage for you is to choose the bottle of the right size. Precisely because of that, Natural Essentials for Pets carries bottles of different sizes. This allows the customers to avoid buying too much or too little of the product, while there will be fewer adjustments necessary in order to determine the right hemp amount for managing your particular symptoms.

Consult your physician

Before you start using any supplement or have your pets take it, it’s essential that you consult a doctor or a vet. Your doctor will be able to explain how to take and use hemp properly as well as the effects of it when taken with other meds or when suffering from different health conditions. Together, you can determine the perfect hemp dosage that’s right for you, and you’ll be ready to get started with Natural Essentials for Pets!
